4. Advertising and audience targeting
JSEC advertises on third-party platforms including Meta (Facebook + Instagram), Google (Search, Display, YouTube), and others. To make those ads relevant and measure their performance, we share the following with those platforms:
- Pixel-collected events (page views, form opens, conversions) — sent automatically by the pixels in Section 2.
- Hashed identifiers for ad matching — when we upload a customer list, email and/or phone are hashed (one-way SHA-256) before being sent. The platform matches the hashes to existing user accounts. Plain-text identifiers are not transmitted.
- Lookalike modeling — Meta / Google use activity in aggregate to find new users with similar characteristics.
- Retargeting — if you visit our site, you may later see JSEC ads on platforms where you are logged in.
SMS-program data is treated separately. Phone numbers and consent records collected for our SMS messaging program are NOT sold, shared, or transferred to any third party for marketing purposes, and are NOT included in advertising custom-audience uploads. Stricter standard than CCPA/TDPSA requires; mandated by CTIA and carrier policies for compliant SMS programs.
5. Third-party processors
- SiteGround — web hosting, server logs, backups
- WordPress + plugin ecosystem — site rendering, form handling
- MailPoet — email delivery for opted-in subscribers
- Twilio — SMS delivery for opted-in subscribers
- BookLikeABoss — tour appointment booking
- Meta Platforms, Inc. — Facebook + Instagram Pixel; ads
- Google LLC — Google Analytics 4; Google Ads pixel and tag; YouTube
- WishList Member — membership / portal access control
6. Sale or sharing of personal information
We do not sell personal information for money. Under CCPA/CPRA and TDPSA, disclosure of pixel-collected events and hashed identifiers to ad platforms for "cross-context behavioral advertising" may constitute a "sale" or "share" under those laws.
You may opt out by emailing [email protected] with subject "Do Not Share — Targeted Advertising", by enabling the Global Privacy Control browser signal (which we honor automatically when received), or by disabling third-party cookies in your browser. We will not discriminate against you for exercising this right.
Phone numbers and SMS-consent records are not sold or shared under any circumstances.
